Game’s visuals

Games from SYNOT Games have never heard critique from us regarding their visuals and we’re not about to start now. We can say, however, that the Book of Secrets ranks among slot machines where the visuals are second-rate. As we’ve mentioned before, the game would benefit from using her main heroine more, since she isn’t present much in the game. The theme of the slot is ancient Egypt and the secret of the shrines. In terms of graphics, however, the game isn't that astonishing and after a while we found the environment a bit boring. The sounds are fine, pleasantly adding to the atmosphere and they quickly transport you to the times of pharaohs and ancient gods. With other online slots from Synot, such as for example Wild Job or Hot Africa, we’ve enjoyed looking at the reels a lot more.

Basic game properties

When it comes to game properties, the Book of Secrets online slot machine uses all the advantages of the template from SYNOT Games. It’s a 5-reel machine with three rows, and 10 fixed winning lines where combinations apply only from left to right.

After reaching a win, you have a chance to increase it bit more. That’s made possible with the Risk (Gamble) function. If you dare to turn it on, your task will be to guess the color of a hidden card that is turned face down. If you guess the color, your prize will immediately double. Should you guess wrong, however, you lose your entire win. You can also find the joker card. In that case you're lucky and you’ll add the same sum to your account as if you guessed the card.

The Autoplay function is available of course. Thanks to it you can set the automatic spinning of the reels without you having to constantly press the Spin button. The Book of Secrets doesn't overflow with bonuses but that's not a problem. The authors took it upon themselves to make the bonuses in a creative way and so they’ve joined the two most often-seen bonuses. They have joined the Wild and Scatter symbol into one symbol. This is a symbol of a book and it has two important functions.

Firstly, of course, it works as a Wild symbol. Which means that if you find yourself in a position where you’re missing a certain symbol that would close your winning combination, it replaces it and the winning line is considered to be complete. But it also works as a Scatter symbol. If the book shows up 3 or more times on the reels, it sends you into a bonus round with 10 free spins.

Before the free spins start, the game defines one special expanding symbol. Then, during the free games, as soon as this symbol shows up at least on two reels it expands to the whole reel and may then create additional winning combinations. After each expansion of a symbol, the slot machine evaluates the winning combinations of special symbols based on their number in the active line and it doesn't matter at all whether they are next to each other or they’re starting on the left reel.
